My name is Hope and I’m a first time mom.
In February 2016 my daughter E was born. I first started this blog because I had no idea what the hell I was doing for the first several months of E’s life. I was a constant hot mess who second guessed every parenting decision I made. But as E got older, I looked back and realized I’ve actually been rocking this mom gig and I tend to have more mama confidence these days.
That’s not to say we’ve got it easy over here. E was recently confirmed to have a true dairy allergy, egg allergy, and a severe peanut allergy that requires her to have an Epi-Pen before her first birthday. Having a baby with severe food allergies presents a whole set of challenges I never anticipated, but we’re rolling with it and I’m learning a lot in the process.
This blog is a place for me to share my thoughts as I stumble my way through reading food labels, testing recipes that sometimes win and sometimes go straight into the trash, and balancing our new lifestyle with raising a soon-to-be toddler who thinks picking her nose is downright hilarious and who likes to throw temper tantrums when I won’t let her eat her wipes.
